PIERRE, S.D.(SDBA)- It sounds like something out of science fiction–turning South Dakota natural gas into crypto-currency on the high plains.

The South Dakota Joint Appropriation Committee Wednesday was trying to determine if it is working.

Representative Chris Karr from Sioux Falls.

However, according to the School and Public Lands’ Mike Cornelison, things have not worked out as planned.

The Appropriations Committee was taking testimony on the School and Public Lands’ budget.

The committee did not take any action.
