PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- While the first day of the 2022 South Dakota legislative session is over two weeks away, a key committee will get a jump start next week.
Joint Committee on Appropriations Co-Chair, Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they have several days of hearings set for next week.
Hunhoff says they will have many more appropriations bills to deal with this year.
Hunhoff says they have to spend the money this year with an eye to the future.
The state is getting over nine hundred million dollars in additional federal funding. Governor Kristi Noem has earmarked most of that to infrastructure projects.
