WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- Joy Ranch and Cornerstone Church are set to co-host the 2025 Night to Shine prom event, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Joy Ranch.
This global event, held simultaneously in 67 countries, provides an unforgettable prom night experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. This will make it the second year Joy Ranch and Cornerstone have partnered to bring the event to Watertown.
Pastor Mark Tracy of Cornerstone Church:
Night to Shine is a complimentary event offering various activities, including a red-carpet entrance, hair and makeup stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, dancing, karaoke, gifts, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, a Sensory Room, and a crowning ceremony where every honored guest receives a crown or tiara.
Joy Nelson, the essential founder and grantor of Joy Ranch, also shared her enthusiasm, describing the energy of the event.
With the allotted space, the guest list is limited to 100.
The community’s support for Night to Shine is overwhelming, with organizers aiming for 200 volunteers this year. They are primarily seeking younger males to be buddies for male guests. Allowing for a “one-on-one” buddy for every guest, the volunteers walk away feeling the most blessed,” said Tracy
The evening will feature limousine rides, a Grand March, and a red carpet welcome, creating an atmosphere of excitement and celebration with people holding signs, cheering, and giving a sort of paparazzi feel. Tracy mentioned the high demand for limousine rides and is considering bringing two this year due to their popularity among attendees.
Joy Ranch’s mission aligns seamlessly with the goals of the Tim Tebow Foundation. Nelson highlighted the alignment.
Nelson highlighted this alignment, saying, “Tim Tebow’s Foundation’s core mission just aligns with Joy Ranch and what we do at Joy Ranch for the people in this region.”
Tim Tebow, founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, expressed his excitement about the event’s 11th anniversary, saying, “All around the world, people with special needs are going to be cheered for on the red carpet, dance the night away with their friends, be crowned a king or queen of the prom… but most importantly, they’re going to hear that they are loved by the God of this universe.”
Community members can register as guests or volunteers or contribute monetary donations through the event website, www.nighttoshinesd.com.
