Judith Ann Valder – Aberdeen SD, formerly of Hoven SD, passed away September 10, 2026, in the care of Avera at Home Hospice in Aberdeen.

The funeral will be held at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hoven, Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 1:00pm with Father Brian Simon officiating. Visitation with a lunch to follow will begin at 11:00am at the Hoven Legion Hall. Burial will be in St Anthony’s Cemetery.

Judy was born in Hoven on July 9, 1945, to Lloyd & Dorothy (Schmidt) Valder. She attended Special Ed classes at St Anthony’s grade school for several years before moving to Aberdeen in March 1975 where she resided at Harmony Homes (now Aspire) and worked at the Adjustment Training Center for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents in 1986 and her sister, Genevieve, in 2022.

Survivors include 1 sister, Jean (Valder) Buechler of Omaha NE. 2 brothers, William Valder of Vero Beach Fla and James Valder of Sioux Falls.
