ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – NCAA Division II National Swimming Champion Hannah Kastigar will be the guest speaker at this year’s Salvation Army Annual Civic Banquet.
The event takes place Tuesday, May 14, at the Ramkota Convention Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a meal around 6 p.m. Cost is $40 per person with a table of eight for $300. Those interested in going should contact the Salvation Army by no later than today at 225-7410.
Kastigar concluded her senior year of competition at Northern State by claiming four All-American awards and winning a national championship in the 400 IM. The Aberdeen native finished her career as an 8-time All-American and 3-time national champ for the Wolves.
The banquet is more of a “friendraiser than a fundraiser,” according to Salvation Army Major Dale Hunt.
While the pace slows down a bit after the holidays, Hunt said that things are now starting to pick up again.
This summer will mark the third year for the Feed the Kids program.
