PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- After serving nine years on the South Dakota Board of Regents, Kevin Schieffer stepped away in March. He says he appreciates his time on the board.
Schieffer says higher education saw rapid changes in those nine years.
Schieffer says they have a solid management team in place at the Regents and universities.
Schieffer says ongoing challenges will be finances, enrollment, and the role of the universities in the future.
Schieffer has been replaced on the Board by Tony Ven Huizen, former Chief of Staff to Governor Kristi Noem.
