Lack of fall sports tough on university student-athletes

BROOKINGS, S.D. (WNAX) – The Missouri Valley Football Conference has moved their schedule to spring and the Summit League has postponed all competition to January at least.

South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn says those changes were encouraged by NCAA rules.

Dunn says they know it is very difficult for the student-athletes.

Dunn says rates of coronavirus infections also played a role in delaying the Summit League.

Dunn says they will continue to evaluate the sports possibilities as they get closer to the end of the year.
