Lack of snow cover helping to lead to warmer temperatures

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The weather continues to be on the mild side as mid-January approaches.

Kelly Serr, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen, talked about what is causing the unusual start to the year.

She said January will come out above normal for temperatures.

The three-month outlook indicates that colder weather will likely become part of the equation.

Serr said the current conditions will definitely shorten the winter, even if snow eventually comes to the area.
