PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- The Lake Oahe Walleye Restoration Coalition is hosting a meeting with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks staff tonight in Akaska.
Co-chair Bill Waeckerle (wack-er-lee) says they’re concerned about the absence of mid-size walleye in Lake Oahe and the Missouri River.
Waeckerle says the past decade has been rough on the mid-size walleye, so his group thinks they need some help to bring their population back up.
Waeckerle says a robust stocking program would improve the population of all sizes of walleye.
Tonight’s meeting of the Lake Oahe Walleye Restoration Coalition and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks staff starts at 7 o’clock at the Community Center in Akaska.
