Landowners held their rally at Pierre Monday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- South Dakota landowners held their rally at the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre Monday.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley spoke about how the Constitution is used to protect landowners.

Among the speakers today was Charles Maude.  He and his wife Heather was going to be criminally charged in 2025 by the federal government.

Later that year civil charges was filed but they too were later dropped.  Maude made the comparison to what happened to them to those that dealt with the carbon pipeline.

Brown County landowner Jared Bossly spoke at the rally and reminded everyone what they went through in 2024.

District 23 Senator Mark Lapka used the rally to introduce a constitutional amendment to address no eminent domain for private gain.

Lapka explains this goes beyond just the pipeline debate.

Lapka also announced he’s working on a bill to address what happened on Bossly’s property.

Emceeing that event was farmer, rancher, & podcaster Amanda Radke.

Radke also sent a message to a candidate running for Governor this year without stating any names.

Radke if refering to comments made by Congressman Dusty Johnson in a South Dakota Searchlight story released back in August when he spoke to members of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce about data centers.
