RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- The case surrounding the alcohol-related death of 47 year-old Paul Walking in downtown Rapid City over the weekend has named Walking’s brother as a primary suspect.
Larry Walking, 34 of Rapid City will stand trial for vehicular homicide following the death of his brother.
Brendyn Medina, spokesperson for the Rapid City Police Department said the call came in as a standard pedestrian-vs-vehicle crash.
Medina said plenty of “good evidence” emerged, such as interviews and security camera footage, which put Walking in the driver’s seat.
Medina said contributing factors turned this case from a manslaughter to a homicide.
At his first courtroom appearance, Walking turned to family and said “I know I’ve hurt my family” before being silenced by his attorney.
