RAPID CITY, S.D. (DBE Radio Group) – As they collect and tally losses and statistics from Storm Wesley, Governor Kristi Noem said Friday that there wasn’t an end to the previous event – for which they are still collecting information – so the emergency declaration that she signed a few weeks ago will cover this most recent storm.
AccuWeather estimates this latest storm cost is in the billions. Brad Anderson, Senior Meteorologist estimates this week’s “bomb cyclone,” Storm Wesley, is a cost on top of another bomb cyclone, Storm Ulmer.
Anderson said they have been tallying damage costs from all the storms this spring.
