Latest update regarding COVID-19 courtesy of SD Dept of Health

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday the South Dakota Department of Health provided a media briefing regarding the latest on COVID-19.

State epidemiologist Josh Clayton talked about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that is on hold due to blood clots on 6 women out of 7 million nearly vaccinated with it.

Despite concerns about the Johnson & Johnson Clayton emphasizes the COVID-19 vaccines are safe.

Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysdon talks about the allocation of the COVID-19 vaccines will be dropping over the next couple of weeks.

COVID-19 cases have been on the rise among people ages 20-29, Malsam-Rysdon wanted to emphasize how important it is for this age group to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
