SALEM, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota legislative leaders are organizing the 2021 session.

Incoming House Majority Leader, Representative Kent Peterson of Salem, says deciding where and how they meet is a critical issue.

Peterson says the pandemic has an impact on the budget, too.

Many years, the session coming off an election can be very productive. Peterson says he doesn’t think the political schedule really matters.

The 2021 session starts Jan. 12.
