Legislators will be allowed to speak, vote remotely during upcoming session

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota legislative session starts next week in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representative-elect Mike Stevens of Yankton says he hasn’t seen the safety rules, yet.

Stevens says there will be changes for the legislative staff.

Stevens says they also will allow legislators to speak and vote remotely if necessary.

The session starts next Wednesday.
