MITCHELL, S.D.(KMIT)- There are only eight days left in this year’s legislative session in South Dakota. This is typically the time when the budget bill starts to come together. District 20 Representative Lance Koth of Mitchell, who is on the Appropriations Committee which puts the budget together, says the committee went through more than two dozen bills on Friday.
He says the budget should be 90 percent completed by the end of this week.
The main run of the 2024 legislative session ends on March 7th. The legislature returns to Pierre on March 25th to consider overriding any vetoes by Governor Noem.
