Legislature hits stretch run

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota legislature hits the stretch run of the 2019 session this week starting with day 29 of the 40-day calendar.

House Majority Leader Lee Qualm of Platte says they should be ready to move all of their bills out.

Senate Assistant Majority Leader Jim Bolin says he thinks the Senate schedule is in pretty good shape.

Lawmakers will work four days each of the next two weeks, with three days the week after that. The final day of the session is set for March 29.
