YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- As outlooks call for warmer and drier weather into summer, there is concern about stretching the water supplied by the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System.
Executive Director Troy Larson says they got close to the edge last summer.
Larson says the problem was a limit on their well production. He says that should be expanded this summer.
While they are working to finish connecting all their members, Larson says they are working on a parallel project to increase their water plant capacity.
Lewis & Clark supplies water to towns and cities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota from wells near the Missouri River south of Vermillion.
