PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – The way radar from the National Weather Service is presented on their websites across the country is changing. Kelly Serr at the National Weather Service’s office in Aberdeen says it’s been awhile since the look of the radar page has changed.
Serr says the change only impacts how the public views the page.
Serr admits the previous version of the public facing weather radar was simple.
The page allows for display of multiple radar modes, will post warnings over the radar and can post county lines and weather service office boundaries. The map will show county roads and can display a standard, topographic or satellite-based background.
