LTD Broadband denied federal aid to expand internet service

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Federal Communications Commission has denied a bid by LTD Broadband for over one billion dollars in federal aid to expand internet services in fifteen states.

South Dakota was one of the states that LTD was planning to serve.

Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says the company has been in front of them a couple of times.

Nelson says they had decided the companies first application was not adequate.

Nelson says they will now wait for LTD to come back to them.

LTD was planning to expand broadband into some of the more rural parts of the state.
