PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission decided to close the docket on LTD Broadband, a Minnesota company that had been seeking designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier so they could get federal funding for broadband expansions.
Commissioner Kristie Fiegen said its not the final door for LTD.
Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says they have been very patient.
Nelson said LTD didn’t have the capability to follow through.
He said the PUC needs to clear the way for other companies to be able to apply for federal broadband funds.
