PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Some Lyman County farmers and ranchers, concerned about a growing elk population in the county brought their concerns to the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission in December.  Brian Krauss lives in the southeastern part of the Lower Brule Reservation and says he’s concerned about damage to his crops.

Charlie Boe farms north of Reliance on land that borders the Lower Brule Reservation.  He says as a crop consultant he knows the damage elk can do.

Brad Carlin live in Reliance.  He wants to see hunting until adjustments to give landowners more flexibility.

Game, Fish and Parks Secretary Kevin Robling told the men they would schedule meetings in the area to discuss the concerns with the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe.
