ABERDEEN, S.D. (APD Facebook) – At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, Aberdeen Police responded to the 900 block of South State Street regarding an adult male that had been stabbed.

Upon arrival officers met with the victim. The victim reported that another male had attempted to break into his apartment. The victim said that he confronted the male and was ultimately stabbed in the abdomen.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Avera St. Lukes Hospital. He underwent surgery and is expected to be released later today.

Abdihakim Ahmed Ismail, age 30 of Aberdeen, was located and arrested. He was charged with aggravated assault.
