Man dies from injuries sustained in September crash near Arlington

ARLINGTON, S.D. (Press Release) – A 37-year-old man has died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Sept. 28, 2019 southwest of Arlington.

A pickup westbound on 217th Street was struck by a pickup that had been northbound on 451st Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the uncontrolled intersection.

Wesley Decker of Arlington, S.D., was driving the westbound pickup. He suffered life-threatening injuries and died on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The other driver, 29-year-old Cody Bunker of Arlington, S.D., sustained serious non-life threatening injuries.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
