SIOUX FALL, S.D. (KELO.com) — Lazerick Grant’s cousin says Lazerick has died after being pulled out of Wall Lake last night.

On a GoFundMe page for Lazerick’s funeral expenses, Josh Grant writes that the currents pushed Lazerick under for 45 minutes.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says Lazerick was on a floatation device with two children. The children had problems in the water and Lazerick tried to save them.

Multiple first responder agencies were at the scene to look for Lazerick. Even private people swam and used their boats to try to find Lazerick before the authorities arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.
