Man who caused lockdowns in Aberdeen apprehended in Indiana

ABERDEEN, S.D. (APD Facebook post) – Ronald Elkins, who was being sought Friday, by APD in reference to a Brown County warrant and suspicion of vehicular theft and violation of protection order, was apprehended in Indiana.

The APD would like to thank Avera’s St. Lukes and the Aberdeen School District. Their assistance was integral in maintaining safety during the lockdowns.

Elkins was believed to be in the area following an incident in Brookings where he allegedly robbed a convenience store and stole two vehicles.
