BROOKINGS, S.D.(WNAX)- There is growing concern among health professionals that a large segment of the population will not get a Covid-19 vaccination, which would limit herd immunity from the virus.
Mark Sternhagen of Brookings has first hand experience with missing out on a vaccination.
Sternhagen, who grew up in Scotland, says there was a different attitude with the polio vaccine.
Sternhagen, who has used a wheelchair most of his life, says he hopes people will consider others as they decide on vaccination.
Sternhagen, a former instructor at South Dakota State University, has written a book, “Normal for Me” about his experiences growing up with polio.
