Marty Jackley provides his take on the marijuana issue

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While medical marijuana will become legal in South Dakota on July first, rules and regulations still need to be written.

Former Attorney General Marty Jackley says he has supported similar efforts in the past.

Jackley, who is running again for Attorney General, says recreational marijuana is still a threat.

Jackley says state officials have to respect the will of the voters.

Voters last fall approved both medical and recreational marijuana, with a court challenge holding up approval of recreational use.
