May 4th is World Password Day

MITCHELL, S.D.(KMIT)- Today is World Password Day, a day to address the critical need for solid passwords to prevent identity theft and other cybercrimes.  Patricia Cerniauskaite (cher-know-SKY-ta) with password manager company Nordpass says people tend to use simple and easily guessed passwords.

She says old passwords should not be reused and adds that it’s a good idea to create multiple passwords for different sites and accounts.

Cerniauskaite (cher-know-SKY-ta) says people should not keep a written list of passwords.  She recommends using an online password manager to keep your passwords secure.
