PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota legislators will have to come up with final passage of rules for medical marijuana this week. Changes were proposed to the legislation introduced by the passage of “IM26” by voters last November.
House Minority Leader Jamie Smith of Sioux Falls says some members don’t respect the voters.
Smith says legislators can’t substitute their own views over the voters.
Smith says voters got a lot of information on the marijuana issues during the campaign last year.
Lawmakers return to Pierre today for the final four days of the main run of the 2021 session.
