PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The Medical Marijuana Oversight Committee held its first meeting at the State Capitol in Pierre Thursday.  Pierre Police Captain Bryan Walz is a law enforcement representative on the Committee and says a lot of information was shared in the four hours of testimony.

Walz says the concerns of law enforcement in relation to medical marijuana haven’t changed.

Walz sees the Committee making a number of formal recommendations at its next meeting.

The Medical Marijuana Oversight Committee is next scheduled to meet in late October.  The group may also get a tour of a medical cannabis facility in Spearfish.
