YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Covid-19 infection numbers are creeping upward again and that has medical professionals worried.

Yankton Doctor Mike Pietila(pee-et-a-la) has been treating Covid patients since the pandemic started last year and says another peak is coming.

Pietila says more patients are surviving due to better treatment and vaccinations.

Pietila, who heads the ICU at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says they has some bad weeks last fall.

Overall infections in the state have trended up about five to ten percent a week for the last month or so
