Lexington, KY (NSUWolves.com) – The American Volleyball Coaches’ Association released the 2024 All-America teams on Wednesday. Northern State University junior Abby Meister earned honorable mention accolades. She is the first libero/defensive specialist in program history to earn and All-America award.
Meister led the NSIC this season averaging 5.67 digs per set with 578 digs total. She recorded double figure digs in 27-of-28 matches this season, and surpassed 1000 digs as a Wolf in just two seasons at NSU. The Sioux Falls native holds a career mark of 1,405 digs. In addition, she tallied 18 matches on the year averaging 5.00 digs per set or better. She was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week twice, a back-to-back first team NSIC All-Conference honoree, and the NSIC Libero of the Year.
The 2024 All-America selections were made by the AVCA Division II All-America Committee: Chuck Waddington of Angelo State (chair), Chris Herron of Washburn, Laurie Lokash of Slippery Rock, Mika Robinson of Rollins, Jonathan Scott of Point Loma, Brian Smith of Molloy, Loralee Smith of Lewis, and Mike Smith of Mars Hill.
