PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota legislature voted eight to two to issue subpoenas to Labor Department Secretary Marcia Hultman and the former head of the Certified Appraiser Program, Sherry Bren. The committee wants more details around the appraiser certification of Governor Kristi Noem’s daughter.

Committee member, Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, was one of the “no” votes.

Hunhoff says she is concerned about the impact on state workers.

Hunhoff says many employee records need to be held in confidence.

The committee agreed to hold another hearing on the issue at a later date.
