PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Members of the Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota legislature endorsed a resolution at their meeting last week to give the committee subpoena power.

Committee member, Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they need that power to do their work.

Hunhoff says they have had a difficult time getting information from some state agencies.

Hunhoff says they will send a bill to the 2023 legislature.

The committee listened to reports from state agencies for thirteen hours over two days.
