Methamphetamine still a big problem in the region

OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- While illegal shipments of fentanyl are being found in the region, meth continues to be seized in large quantities.

Emily Murray with the regional D.E.A. Office in Omaha says that is despite the domestic meth production system being shut down.

Murray says the Mexican cartels took over that meth production and distribution.

Murray says the cartels have also mastered social media.

The D.E.A. is also seeing cities like Omaha and Des Moines become hub cities for meth distribution.
