BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) -Brookings School Superintendent Klint Willert says there are still issues with construction delays at Mickelson Middle School. He says the general contractor, Gray Construction, continues to run consistently behind.
Willert says the latest phase of work includes areas that must be finished well before school starts. Earlier delays were cause by the weather, but most of the work now is indoors.
School Board member Roger DeGroot shared his thoughts.
Willert says the contract allows them to seek damages from Gray.
School at Mickelson started a week and a half late this year because of delays.
