MidAmerican Energy & Missouri River Energy Service held meetings last week

PLATTE, S.D.(WNAX)- MidAmerican Energy and Missouri River Energy Services held public meetings last week in Platte to update their plans for the Gregory County Pumped Storage Project.

Joni Livingston with Missouri River Energy Services said they have expanded their scope of studies.

Livingston says they have included some new areas in the studies.

Livingston says through public input, they have changed some design plans for connections to the pumped storage unit.

The project would build a large reservoir on the west bank of the Missouri River, pump water into it, and then release it through hydro generators when more power is needed. The project could cost up to one billion dollars.
