Mild weather leads to dangerous ice fishing conditions

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The warmer winter weather has been appreciated by many local residents, but it has made for some dangerous conditions when it comes to ice fishing.

Nick Cochran, Conservation Officer with the Game, Fish and Parks, said that the ice is definitely not as solid at this time of the year as it normally is.

He provided some tips for being safe out on the ice.

The warmer weather should lead to a solid January as the pheasant hunting season wraps up. This is the first year that the state has allowed hunting all through the month.
