Langford, SD: The memorial service for Milland D. Heinz will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Langford, SD, with Diane Hoines officiating. Per Milland’s wishes please dress casually.

Milland D. Heinz was born February 18, 1963 in Britton, SD to Donald and Gladys (Grainger) Heinz. He grew up in the Minneapolis area, and also in the Langford area. After schooling he moved back to the cities and began working a variety of jobs. For several years he worked for Meyers Printing Company.

He married Sandra Nalley and together they had two sons, Miles and Logan. They later divorced and he married Selena Schuster, and welcomed her two children, Micaela and Donovan, into his life. After their divorce he moved back to Langford and met the love of his life, Lisa Dauwen. Milland and Lisa married in 2019 and have spent many wonderful years together.

While living in Langford he worked for the wall plant in Britton for a few years before he began working the past several years at Horton in Britton. He was working at Horton until his health started to decrease this past September 2024.

Milland was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Langford. He was an excellent cook, and over the years he made many meals for the church following programs and their yearly Valentine’s Day meal. In his free time he loved to fish, especially if he had a friend, one of his children or a niece or nephew along. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Milland had an amazing smile and easily made friends. He was reliable and always willing to help people. He will be dearly missed.

Milland passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton, SD, at the age of 62.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Dauwen and her son Colby; children: Miles (Tyler) Heinz, Logan Heinz, Micaela (Mike) Spain-Brist and Donovan Hagen; his mom, Gladys Heinz; his siblings, Cathy Stiegelmeier and Vince Heinz; grandchildren: Wesley, Wyatt, Avery, Micah and McKenna; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his dad, Donald Heinz; sister, Klarisa LaFontaine; brothers-in-law, Kim Stiegelmeier, Al LaFontaine, Lee Dauwen and Lyndon Dauwen; and father-in-law, Lester Dauwen.
