Minnehaha County has more coronavirus cases than Hennepin County

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — With 15 percent of the population of Hennepin County, Minnesota, Minnehaha County has 220 more coronavirus cases than the Minneapolis-centric county.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates Minnehaha County’s 2019 population at 193,134 and Hennepin County’s at 1.266 million.

Minnehaha County has 768 coronavirus cases according to the S.D. Department of Health. Hennepin County has 588 according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

However, Minnehaha County has reported only two deaths from COVID-19 while Hennepin County has reported 40 deaths.

Minnehaha County has an incidence rate of 0.004 while Hennepin County has an incidence rate of 0.0005. Minnehaha County’s death rate is 0.00001 and Hennepin County’s is 0.00003.
