Miranda O’Bryan talks about being Miss South Dakota

STURGIS, S.D.(KBHB) – Newly crowned Miss South Dakota Miranda O’Bryan is gearing up for a busy summer.

O’Bryan stopped by the KBHB studios today, and talked about winning the title.

O’Bryan’s Community Service Initiative is called “Page Turners: Fall in Love with Reading.” She talked about the initiative.

O’Bryan says she has worked to set up ‘Little Free Libraries’ across the state, including one in her hometown of Martin. She has also started a podcast called the “Page-Turners Podcast”.

O’Bryan will represent South Dakota at the upcoming Miss America competition in early 2024. She says it will be experience she will cherish.

O’Bryan, who is a graduate of South Dakota State University, is a news anchor for KOTA/KEVN television in Rapid City. She is taking a year off to fulfill her duties as Miss South Dakota.
