WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- This last weekend at the Watertown Event Center, girls competed for the coveted title of Miss South Dakota USA, Miss South Dakota Teen USA, Miss North Dakota USA, and Miss North Dakota Teen USA.

The girls competing for the coveted title were chosen from applications before this weekend’s pageant.

Denise Wallace, with Future Productions, who was the event organizer, explained how the pageant works.

Also on hand, this weekend was Miss USA, Morgan Romano of North Carolina.  She talks about what she is passionate about as reigning Miss USA.

Miss Teen USA, Faron Medhi of Nebraska, was also in town and spoke about what she is passionate about as reigning Miss Teen USA.

Miss USA and Miss Teen USA helped in various roles with the competition this weekend and also talked with all the girls competing.

The newly crowned Miss South Dakota 2023 is Amber Hulse of Rapid City, and the Miss South Dakota Teen USA 2023 is Lindsey Pfingston of Rapid City.  Next, the girls will move on to the national competition to be aired later this fall.
