OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is reporting that levels in Missouri River reservoirs appears to be leveling off and, in some cases, starting to drop.
Mike Swenson with the Corps in Omaha says they expect water storage to peak in the next few days.
Swenson says releases from lower dams will stay high into late summer.
Swenson says Lake Oahe is also still fairly high.
The Corps has said run off this year will be the second highest on record, at 52 million acre feet, only behind the flood year of 2011, when run off totaled 61 million acre feet.
