OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- Dry conditions last fall into the winter will provide plenty of flood storage space in Missouri River reservoirs.
Mike Swenson with the Corps of Engineers in Omaha details some of the forecasts.
Swenson says releases from Gavins Point Dam near Yankton will increase to support downstream barge traffic.
Swenson says the lower flows will lead to less hydro power from the dams this spring and summer.
The Corps says mountain snowpack in the basin is about eighty percent of normal.
