Missouri River runoff close to tying record

OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – Runoff last year into the Missouri River came very close to tying a record.

Kevin Grode with the Corps of Engineers in Omaha totaled the numbers.

Grode says December alone set some remarkable records.

Grode says they are watching a growing snow pack on the plains.

Grode says that snowpack is higher than it was last year at this time. The Corps is predicting runoff this year of 36.3 million acre feet, which would be ninth highest all time.
