Mitchell man to appear on CNBC to promote his invention to combat school shootings & other emergencies

MITCHELL, S.D.(KMIT)- A Mitchell man has received a patent on a safety invention that could save lives in the event of a school shooting or other emergency.  Jeff Harris, who works at Dakota Wesleyan University, explains what the Threat Stop is.

He says the idea came about after an active shooter training at Dakota Wesleyan.

Harris says he has made some alterations and has another patent pending on the new version.  While he is happy that the patent was approved, he says it is somewhat bittersweet.

He plans on selling his patent to a manufacturer to mass produce.  Harris and his invention will be featured on CNBC this month.
