PIEDMONT, S.D.(KBHB) – Law enforcement in Meade County responded to a mobile home in Piedmont late last night, where a man had barricaded himself inside the home after allegedly firing shots.
The man allegedly fired a gun during a domestic violence incident and was arrested after a 3.5-hour long stand-off at the Sacora Station mobile home park on Sturgis Road.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is charged with aggravated assault, according to a news release from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office. The incident began around 7:00 p.m. Thursday when the Meade County Sheriff’s Office was called to the area for a call about shots fired.
The man retreated into a trailer home and authorities eventually called in the Pennington County Special Response Team.
No one was injured during the shooting or arrest.
