Money likely to play key role in decision making during session

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) – The 2020 South Dakota Legislative Session begins one week from today.

District 7 Representatvie Tim Reed of Brookings says revenue will drive much of what lawmakers are able to do. Money, or the lack thereof, is often the key topic during session.

Reed believes something can get done.

He says there are a few questions that need to be answered.

A one-percent raise for education, state workers and medicare providers equals about $16 million.
