ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – The decades-long relationship between Montgomery’s and Malchows will soon culminate in a 55,000 square foot showroom, slated to open this summer at 3502 7th Avenue SE. The same location, the former Office Max building between Target and Walmart, was the site of the Tom Malchow retirement sale that ended Jan. 2.
To allow for completion of construction, Montgomery’s relocated to 15 1st Ave. NW and re-opened as Montgomery’s Design Studio, offering a full range of free in-home design service, furnishings, floor coverings, window treatments and mattress selections. “We’ve seen a phenomenal outpouring of support from the Aberdeen community since the fire and through the retirement sale,” said Mark Malchow, managing partner in Aberdeen. “We want our customers to know we’re still here for them while our new showroom is being built.”
The new Aberdeen showroom will be similar in size to Montgomery’s other three stores, complete with a lighting gallery, a Mattress 1st location, flooring and window treatment departments, and the unique one-of-kind furnishings they are known for. Budget Express items will also be available, making the shopping experience attractive with a wide range of offerings. “All throughout our 133-year history, Montgomery’s has stood for quality” said Eric Sinclair, president and owner. “Malchows set the bar high in Aberdeen and we will uphold that tradition in how we interact in the community and by how we treat our customers. At a time when the consumer has many options to purchase home furnishings, we strive to build customer relationships and do everything we can to keep their business local.”
“We’ve partnered with the Malchows family to create an expanded furniture buying experience here. Our guests will be pleased with the amenities in the Aberdeen store,” said Eric. “We are excited to become a permanent part of the Aberdeen community and develop relationships in our new home.”
